[edit] Summary

The purpose of this design task is to determine a landing site for CLLARE manned lunar landings.

[edit] Background

[edit] Features/Considerations

  • Social contract imposes restrictions on landing sites ("space heritage site" preservation)
  • Landing site should lie on same plane as Earth parking orbit to minimise orbital maneuvers
  • Temperature ranges should be kept as comfortable as possible
  • Scientifically interesting sites should be preferred when all else is equal
