OHKLA technical goals

[edit] Primary goal: propulsion research
The primary technical goal of OHKLA is to facilitate experimentation with hybrid rocket engines as a means of propulsion, as a precursor to more ambitious hybrid rocketry projects (an explanation of why hybrid engines were chosen is available at the OHKLA FAQ). In particular, the OHKLA project is expected to support research on:
- Various kinds of solid fuel (polymers vs paraffin)
- Various kinds of fuel additives (aluminium powder, others?)
- Various fuel grain port numbers/sizes/shapes
- Various ignition technologies
- Various nozzle shapes
- Various nozzle construction materials
